Zacharias of Mytilene

Zacharias of Mytilene
   Church historian, bishop of Mytilene (qq.v.) in the early sixth century. His History of the Church, biased in favor of Monophysitism (q.v.) (although he later converted to the Chalcedonian creed) covers the years 450-491. It is preserved only in a Syriac epitome. He also wrote a vita (q.v.) of Severos, bishop of Antioch (qq.v.).
